Best aerators are now available right online

If your job is to grow crops on commercial farmland or look after turf and the planned growth of lawn or the supervision of the pastureland, ultimately your work will have to revolve around the forbidding area of aeration. In the simplest terms, aeration means the process of introducing air into the soil. The necessity of air for plant roots makes it imperative to cause the infiltration of a mix of air and water because that's the only way air can actually be made to reach the roots. This introduces modern day aeration systems that are scientifically designed so that aeration is achieved efficiently, with minimum costs and with the full utilization of air, water and nutrients.

Though aeration appears to be a simple operation, it is in effect a highly complex exercise and involves various activities that involve the breaking down of compacted soil, creation of fissures so that the air and water mix can infiltrate deep inside the soil and, thereafter, maintain the capillary action to perpetuate the routes of aeration.

Aeration systems include the use of various kinds of tines and cores, harrows and cultivators where each piece of equipment discharges a typical role of aeration. The basic of all these aerators is, of course, the tractor aerator. These tractor aerators come in various sizes these days such as 48", 60" and 72".

Another effective form of aerator is the harrow. A harrow is a farming implement that breaks the compacted clods of earth and makes the soil smooth.

It is different from the plow that goes deeper into the soil. You may need a harrow at times for the removal of weeds or for covering the seeds once they have been sown. There are various kinds of harrows such as the chain harrow, tine and spring tine harrow, the disc and the spike harrow. The chain harrow is generally used for the lighter kind of role such as when seeds have been sown and the soil needs to cover them. The disc harrow, on the other hand, is used for heavier work such as that of breaking compacted clods of earth. Latest Articles in Article Marketing Category on EzineMark.com
